INFORMATION
Kasai Tomomi is a 2nd generation member of female idol group AKB48. She joined the group after auditioning for Team K in 2006, and since then has featured in every one of AKB48’s major singles, as well as being a member of the subgroup ICE from AKB48. As part of this subgroup Kasai also took part in the production of the anime OVA titled ICE. She was the voice actress of the character known as Aoi.
Within AKB48, Kasai is known for her high pitched and exceptionally cute voice, and is one of the more popular members of Team K (along with Oshima Yuko and Ono Erena). She is often seen paired with members such as Oshima Yuko, Ono Erena, Minegishi Minami and Itano Tomomi, but is known to be good friends with a number of other girls, especially Kobayashi Kana.
In the middle of 2007, it was announced that Kasai (along with Oshima Mai and Itano Tomomi) would be transferred to the talent agency Horipro. The change didn’t greatly effect her activities within AKB48, and instead meant that the 3 girls could gain more promotion outside of AKB48’s main activities. With Horipro, Kasai has taken part in a number of activities such as: playing in Horipro’s futsal team XANADU Loves NHC (she plays in the #48 shirt), being cast in a series of TV commercials and skits for a KIRIN beverage, and having a weekly radio show with Itano Tomomi.
